This is our beautiful wordle!  Each student wrote down three dog action words while Mrs. W. typed them into wordle.  If you haven’t tried this before, it’s not that hard!  Use Jing to capture the screen image.  Sue Waters talks about all the issues in her post.  Check it out!

The larger the word, the more times it occured in the students’ answers.  We usually have been making these ‘word webs’ on the smartboard, but this seems much more fun.  We will try taking this image and pasting it into our smart notebook file where the word web would have been written.

Jordan chose our book today.  It was Sukey and the Mermaid.  We loved this book!  Our students gasped at the what was happening on each page.  It reminded us of so many different fairy tales.  We had some technology services unavailable to us today, so Jordan will be back tomorrow with her post, as well as Wednesday’s student.

Projects in the works: Photo Story 3 for our friends in Australia, update on the Diversity Rocks! Challenge, and more!  Please come back and please leave us a comment!  We love to write back to our friends.

    Hi Guys,

The Wordle looks great. We used to make one at the end of each week last year, using the type in your URL function to see what our most ussed words on the blog were for the week. It was good to see that there were always lots of happy and positive words. We used to copy it into a blog using the print screen function and Paint. Then we saved it as a photo. I will go and check out ‘Jing’.
Hi Jordan, we will look forward to checking out your book review and seeing all of the other great things the class has been working on.
The playground was full of smoke today because the CFA are doing back burning in our area. They do this so that if the fires flare up agin there will be nothing to burn close to homes and other important buildings.
We are out of danger for the moment, unless another fire bug decides to set another fire.

Sue, I couldn’t get my print screen function to capture the screen. I saw that Sue Waters had suggested that. Hmmm, just another tech. problem to try to solve. Still reading up on the fires. It is so sad about the animals, people, homes, and land. I hope that you and your kids are handling this alright. It reminds me of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. So much of my home state was in disaster.

We can’t wait to see your wordles. Maybe some on solids, liquids, and gases to go with your VT. That would be neat.
